In aluminium extrusion factories the nitriding technologies are used to harden the surface of the extrusion dies. Depending on the thickness of the profile walls and the complexity of its design the re-nitriding process can be repeated multiple times. 

The N-EXT technology is a completely new approach to the nitriding process. It allows a strict control of the nitrogen content of the white layer during the whole nitriding cycle. By improving the distribution of nitrogen throughout the shell you can achieve optimal properties of the material of the extrusion dies.
