AKZO NOBEL

AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, part of the AkzoNobel group, is the largest global manufacturer of powder coatings and a world leader in powder coatings technology.

The company is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, but it has approximately 45 000 employees in more than 80 countries and its portfolio includes well known brands such as Dulux, Sikkens, Interpon and Eka.

Akoz Nobel is the world’s largest producer of powder coatings, having a total of 29 factories in different regions in the world.

Powder coatings are solvent-free paints applied to metal and other conductive surfaces. They can be used to coat metal furniture, window frames, radiators, pipes, automotive vehicles, laptops, even wood and glass.

Liquid finishes contain solvents, which have pollutants known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs).  Powder coatings contain no solvents and releases negligible amounts of VOCs into the atmosphere, if any.

There are no toxic lead pigments in Akzo Nobel’s powder coatings. And they are the world leader in TGIC-free technology. (Ttriglycidyl Isocyanurate is a cross linker used as a curing agent in powder coatings since the 1970s).

The benefits of powder coating for consumers are clear: powder coating will make your purchase look better and last longer – not to mention its reduced environmental footprint! And, as no solvents are required with powder, there is a reduction in the risk of fire during storage and handling.
